Meet The Artist
About Mylie
Mylie is a watercolour artist from Tamborine Mountain, Queensland. She paints watercolour animals, florals, landscapes and pets. But loves to paint birds. As a Christian, she views nature as God’s handiwork and is often inspired by everything He has made and tries to replicate it in her own way.
She is 17 and homeschooled while being self taught through youtube, she has always loved art and painting for as long as she can remember. But since the end of 2021 she has focused on her skills and talent.
Family and friends started commissioning her and have been her biggest supporters. Making the young girl live up to her dreams.
Darcy Doyles Junior Winner
Mylie took out first price in the 14-17 year junior Darcy Doyles Award in June 2026 with her painting “Yellow Cheeks.” She sold both her entries “Yellow Cheeks” and “Kookaburra Mates” before she arrived to the awards night.
It had been the biggest honour for her to be a junior finalist for the past 3 years of entering the Darcy Doyles, and to have been chosen and awarded as winner this year.
She is constantly inspired by the beautiful Australian birds that fly over her house on Tamborine Mountain. The colour, character, and personality that they have and show in the air.
There are Limited Edition Prints of “Yellow Cheeks” and “Kookaburra Mates” on her shop as well as her 2025 entry “Gumnut Forage.”
